How do I start this thing?

This being my first blog post, it is quite hard to find something important to say.  I’ll just have to see what rolls out of my fingers through this keyboard.

I have been promising – no: threatening – to start this blog so that RFAS is given a dynamic web presence.  Our flash website, which was put together some eight years ago, was originally an experiment in learning the intricacies of flash animation (click on link above or at right).  I had hoped to be able to update it regularly with images of our work completed and in progress.  It was to be an avenue for us to express out thoughts into the ether of the web with a hope to garner some interest in things that interested us.  That has long gone by the wayside.

Technology changed.  The Internet changed.  There are now too many tools to choose from to do what I’d like to do.  So I have opted to get my feet wet in the form of a blog.  It is perhaps the easiest thing for me to begin with as it’s such a familiar format for everyone.  As this site expands, I will explore avenues to share our thoughts and our work with the world in different ways.

Never being one to say much about myself in public, I do find the whole prospect a little daunting.  Facebook has helped me overcome my trepidation – somewhat.  Perhaps more on that later.  For now, I will content myself with seeing this blog take its place amongst the plethora of words and images on the Internet, fighting to command a tiny niche of ideas and explorations.

I’ll will try to make regular entries.  I will also try to get Joys to join in.

Welcome to you all.
