My Opportunity to Work on the Design of a Local Jamatkhana…
…First came when I began working with FNDA. My association with them was short but infused with passionate energy in the exploration of a cultural expression for Ismailis in their Permanent Jamatkhanas in North America. Burnaby Lake Jamatkhana was one early success in realization of that exploration.
Still considered a favourite Jamatkhana amongst Burnaby Ismailis, the building still retains its original flavour. Here are some images from the interiors taken in 1989.
